A lady healed from a degenerate bone disease

Recently, Sarah arranged for us to go and pray for a lady in a nearby village, who had a degenerate bone disease in her spine - causing her to shrink about 5 inches over recent years. The lady, who was in her 70’s is a very active dog-walker, but was finding it very hard to do such activities with her condition, which caused her constant pain and discomfort. Some friends offered to introduce her to their healing methods, namely channelling - an occult form of healing! Sarah said no!....saying that ‘Lincoln and I will come and pray for you!’

The added complication was that she was deaf, so I thought it would be difficult to communicate biblical truths to her and she struck me as someone who wouldn’t necessarily be open to the Bible and it’s teachings. I was to be surprised, because she had a C of E background, although had not been practising her Christian faith for a long while.

I began to open the scriptures to her asking her to read each portion of scripture such as Is 53:3-5, Matt 8:17 and 2 Pet 1:24 and her response was that she was amazed how much Jesus had done for her.

We lay hands and prayed for her back 1st of all, for the healing of the spine and she said she felt heat all over her back including the spine. I said that it was the healing power of Jesus and asked her to bend, twist and do what she couldn’t do before. I noticed that her spine which was slightly curved before was no longer like that when she straightened up. She did so and stood back up saying the pain in the spine was gone, just a pain in lower back to one side.

So we got her to sit on a chair with her legs lifted up and pointing outwards, and we could all see one leg shorter than the other. Sarah placed her hand on the area of pain on the lower back and I held her feet commanding the vertebrae, discs, muscles and ligaments to be correctly aligned. The shorter leg immediately ‘grew out’ to the length of the other one and she was healed from the pain.

We then prayed for her hearing and could see there wasn’t a complete willingness to let go of that condition, but prayed anyway. She felt a burning heat over her head and ears and I tested her hearing. Nothing had changed but I knew she was healed and all she had to do was to receive it...and I told her so.

Finally, I told that she since we had come this far she might as well make her eternal life a sure thing by receiving Jesus as her Lord and Saviour, which she happily did through praying with us. She was lovingly touched in her heart as she felt the love of God in such a way for the first time!

God is so amazing! We need to use every opportunity to show this to people, by daring ‘to step out’ in faith based on His Word in Mark 16:17 ‘ ....these signs shall follow those who believe...in My name they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover’
